Rust In Peace

I took this photo over a decade ago. There was something captivating about the stacking of the cars, their condition, and the colors. After developing the print I realized something else that hadn’t originally caught my eye. Right above the building was a telephone pole. The background was a bit washed out so you can’t make out the lines connected to the pole. The end result is that the pole resembles a cross. Not that I am comparing the cars to Jesus, but like Jesus’ resurrection, many of these cars were ultimately brought back to life (restored) and put back on the road.
Listening To: Morning silence in the house

I’ve always wanted one of those old Karmann Ghias. In convertible of course. I like the colors in this photo and believe it or not they do not appear to be damaged too much by the stacking of their carcasses. One day I’ll find one to work on.
This image is so totally cool. Did you touch up the color much, or is that all the effects of age and old-style film?
My scanner really isn’t very good so I have top make color corrections after scanning the images in. This is pretty close to the coloring print but the original is much nicer.
