Smoky Ranch Scene

This was taken 3 summers ago on a wildfire along the Salmon River, in Idaho. As you can see, the smoke was so thick it made breathing a chore. We were camped behind the Shepp Ranch, where we were treated like family. I could do a full photo gallery just from the 2 weeks I spent here. I guess I’m getting antsy, waiting for the western wildfire season to begin, so I can get back out to the wilderness areas I love and perhaps get a picture or two as I’m working.

Wow! Was the ranch saved?
Yes. It is an awesome place! The only access is by air or an hour’s ride up the river by jet boat. We burned the hills around the place in order to save it. I’m anxious to go back as a visitor. The owners are incredible people.
