It’s official! We’re having a safari at the Brooksville Raid on Sunday! How does 1pm sound to everybody? Be sure to arrive at or around noon so you can park and wander around a little bit. Why don’t we all meet at the food concession area?
Here’s a link to Google Maps in case you’re not sure how to get there. Leave a comment in the shoutbox or on this post if you’re planning on going!

Just a quick note about Project365. It’s a photo a day for a whole year. The rules are simple. Take at least a photo a day and post it to the site. If you’re participating in the project, you’ll need to add DayXXX to your image titles. ie: “Day145: Pretty Flowers.”
So I’m going to do it. Are you?

2:27 am in Admin, Announcement, Approach A Stranger, Contest, Florida, People, Portrait, Safari, Stranger by William Tillis

Make a friend …
May is Approach A Stranger Month on SouthFloridaDaily! The task has been handed down to all current, contributing photographers to approach a completely random person in a completely random situation (in a safe manner, of course) and ask for their permission to take a portrait and maybe even get a little story blurb to go along with the photo. There’s no limit on how many Approach photos you can submit, but you must submit at least one. The photographer who submits the most (only during the month of May) gets a super cool prize. I haven’t figured out what it is yet, but I usually give out pretty cool prizes.

12:00 am in Admin, Announcement by Hank James
Meet Location: 13179 Cortez Blvd., Dunkin Donuts
It is located just east of the Mariner Blvd./S.R. 50 Intersection.
Meet Date/Time: Saturday, 11-01-2008 @ 0630 Hours
Content: We will meet @ DD for coffee and logistics. We will then head out to downtown Brooksville for about an hour. From Brooksville we will then head over to Adventure Cycles for the Dragon Fly 920 Poker Run. We can get pics at this location and then make a plan to either shadow the route of find a location to set up and catch images at another location along the route. As usual with our safaris they take on a life of their own and can be subject to change. So… if you have an idea don’t be shy about it. The location is written here in stone though, DD @ Mariner and S.R. 50 it is. We look forward to hanging out with whomever would like to show up.

Look at what all you people missed by not coming out to the Pine Island Sunset Safari!! One person (aside from myself) who didn’t miss out on all the photographic goodness is Bill Pierson. Bill is our newest contributor and has a bunch of really amazing photos to share (including a few from Sunday’s safari). I look forward to dragging him along on many more safaris – whether he wants to go or not.
Welcome to SouthFloridaDaily, Bill!!
