Week 02: Away From Home

12:00 am in Antique, Architectural, Canon S5 IS, Digital, Georgia, Natural Lighting, Nostalgic, Photoshop, Project52, Travel by David Evans

I tweaked the saturation on this one a bit in order to give it an old post card look. This cool old motel is located in Tift, Ga.

They are one of my greatest sources of joy and inspiration. This is my little Libby, the kisser of my bunch. When I get home, she is so happy to see me she can’t stop kissing me.

While taking pics of my oldest daughter Trinity, she couldn’t help but enjoy the veiw of the light peeking thru the tree tops. She said it looks like smile from heaven.

With ten days of suspension to pay (don’t ask–it was just plain asinine), I introduced him to an old friend. With Mr. King’s stories not quite like another’s, the boy fell right into his own mind’s eye within a day. A low afternoon sun fell not so gently on the words, reflecting on his face, an expression of being lost in creating his own picture of how the story unfolds.

Homosassa Hawk or Owl

12:00 am in Florida, Homosassa, Natural Lighting, Nature, Nikon D90, Photoshop by Dorothy Sheehan

My favorite shot from Homosassa Springs in June, 2009. Some people say it’s a hawk and I say it’s an owl for it turns its head all the way around. Have to research this, I guess for I don’t remember the name of it.

Coffee Beans

12:00 am in Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi, Central America, Digital, Food, Guatemala, Nature, Photoshop, Travel by Janie Koike

Coffee 1

You’re actually getting a preview to a series of images I took at a coffee plantation outside of Antigua, Guatemala.  I haven’t had a chance to post them on my personal blog, but wanted to give you all the first look.  It was pretty cool to visit the plantation.  I had never really known what all took place during the process of making coffee.  These green beans eventually become bright red and that’s when they know when to pick them.  After picking there’s a whole long process that I am sure you can google if you’re really interested, but basically at the end, from this little green bulb, you get a coffee bean.
