I had the great pleasure of meeting Obadiah Franklin on Tuesday (a big thanks going out to Hank James for alerting me!). From his website: He survives by the goodness of people and depends 100% on God for his provisions. At age 60 he is homeless and he travels alone from city to city with the cross in the back of his truck. He is committed to carrying the cross and ministering to every city during his lifetime. Believers accommodate him for the night, and others provide for his lodging or meals. Obadiah truly lives by faith. He understands how short life is and is dedicated to sharing the love of Jesus. When asked why he keeps his hat down low, he states, “because all of this is about Jesus Christ and not me. I’m just a messenger.”
Obadiah will be speaking at Encouraging Word Ministries (7370 Broad St in Brooksville across from the Wal-Mart SuperCenter) at 7pm this Wednesday and Thursday as a guest of Pastor Bill Pope, Jr. Listening to: WWJB AM online
Was out on a bike ride with Keith Buffardi this evening headed south on the Expressway Trail (my name for it) and watched the heat lightning from this monster for a couple of miles. When we finally finished our ride, I was able to get this shot from the top of an overpass. It took a few tries and I had to put up with about a hundred mosquito bites, but I think it was worth it. An extremely fast moving storm front interrupting an otherwise gorgeously humid and muggy summer day. More humidity! Thanks!
